2020 Year in Review
2020 will forever be a year that made history.
It is a year that we will always remember but at times wish we could forget. Throughout the year we were faced with change, fear, and tragedy but we also witnessed community, bravery, and triumph. In times like these, it is easy to focus on the hardships and dwell on what could have been, but we must continue to stay positive and celebrate our wins. To close off the chapter of 2020 and start the year off right we want to look back and celebrate some of our accomplishments and achievements.
Let us start off with our biggest moment of the year, which was DPM’s 10 year anniversary back in November, what an incredible milestone! Of course, we planned to celebrate the DPM way with a lot of food and fun but unfortunately, we had to pivot our celebration to something virtual. We still managed to have a fun celebration where we reminisced about how we got to where we are today. The journey to this celebration has been an amazing one and we are so continually grateful for our amazing clients and dedicated DPM family, without them DPM would not be where it is today.
2020 was also a year of recognition for us. We were fortunate enough to receive several awards throughout the year including:
- The Globe and Mail’s second-annual ranking of Canada’s Top Growing Companies
- 2020 Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies.
- Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures for 2020
These were such amazing accomplishments for us, and we only hope our growth and accomplishments continue in 2021 and beyond.
This past year was also one that tried to challenge our workplace culture. As Culture and family are two fundamental values at DPM the remote nature of 2020 made things a bit more difficult. Nonetheless, we managed to keep our DPM family as close as ever with numerous virtual activities such as hangouts and happy hours. Even though we were not all in the same physical space our team was as tight-knit, dependable, and knowledgeable as ever.
Lastly, let us highlight some of the cool projects we have been working on. We continued to work on some of our larger projects such as Finch West Light Rail Transit, Port Lands Flood Protection Project, Eglinton Crosstown, and more. Some other projects we have been involved with include subdivision work as well as various lighting projects including streetlighting and illumination design projects. We have also been seeking out some cool projects for 2021 and beyond and we can’t wait to see what awesome opportunities we are able to get involved with.
While 2020 was an unusual and unpredictable year we at DPM have a lot to be grateful for. We achieved and accomplished many great things over the past year and are excited to see what 2021 has to offer.
