Laps Around Lymphoma Event
This September DPM participated in the Laps Around Lymphoma virtual walking event.
This is an event that DPM staff have taken part in for several years and since COVID the event has been virtual.
Lymphoma is the 5th most common cancer in Canada; the most common cancer in teenagers and young adults ages 15-29; the 3rd most common cancer in kids. Each day, 31 Canadians are diagnosed with lymphoma. Lymphoma strikes randomly. There is no known cause.
DPM is always glad to take part in such an amazing event for such a great cause. The virtual event took place over 2 weeks in which participants were challenged to walk 100,000 steps (76km). There were a number of prizes up for grabs for top fundraiser and highest step count.
Not only was this a great team building exercise, but it brought out everyone’s competitive side as they tried to out walk their team members and others taking part in this event. In addition to the steps participants were also able to raise funds for such an amazing cause! This year DPM was able to raise a total of $9,480.
The DPM team did an amazing job supporting such a great event and we look forward to participating in years to come.
