WATERLICHT at The Bentway
The Bentway will be playing host to a free site-wide large-scale light installation by Daan Roosegaarde.
Happy Fall everyone!
As the weather turns cooler and the leaves begin to change, we are excited about everything this new season is set to bring.
For this month’s blog post, we wanted to highlight another exciting event going on at The Bentway.
From Friday, October 12th at 7 pm to Sunday, October 14th at 11 pm, The Bentway will be playing host to a free site-wide large-scale light installation by the acclaimed Dutch artists and innovator Daan Roosegaarde.
This light installation, entitled WATERLICHT, illustrates the universal power and poetry of water. WATERLICHT is a “dream landscape created through the imaginative use of LEDs, special software, and lenses. Larger-than-life, cascading waves of blue light will soar underneath the Gardiner Expressway, simulating a virtual flood and calling attention to rising water levels along Toronto’s shoreline.”
The work will have its Canadian premiere at The Bentway and will embrace the unique physical features of the site while acknowledging its past as the original shoreline of Lake Ontario.
DPM is always excited to celebrate all the wonderful things The Bentway is doing, as we are so proud to have been involved with such a ground-breaking Toronto project; to learn more, click here: DPM and The Bentway.
